Brandie, a nurse with twenty years experience and a single mom, returns to her hometown during the pandemic but cannot find an affordable place to live. With a poor credit score and two boxers, she is ultimately forced to move to an extended-stay hotel. Working two jobs and raising her kids, she dreams of buying a place of her own. Home follows Brandie’s journey of becoming a homeowner; it offers an intimate look at motherhood and redefines the meaning of home.

Beatričė Bankauskaitė

Hailing from a small town in Lithuania, she currently resides in Columbia, Missouri, where she received the prestigious Fulbright scholarship in 2021 to pursue her Master’s degree in Journalism with a concentration in Documentary. 

Recently, she completed an internship at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York, where she made significant contributions to the execution of the First Look 2023 film festival. Additionally, she serves as a member of the screening committee for the 18th and 19th editions of the esteemed Camden International Film Festival (CIFF). 

Her passion for advancing the art and discourse of non-fiction cinema is evident through her academic pursuits. As a graduate student, she conducted interviews with film directors and participants to examine the complexities of the filmmaker-participant relationship and collaborative practice in documentary filmmaking. 

She aspires to continue working in the non-fiction industry, contributing to the conversation on ethical filmmaking.
