Best friends Maya Collins and Rilee Malloy had a lot of big dreams. Their biggest? To make a movie together. But when Maya passed away from AML complications at fourteen, their dream was left unfinished. Now nearly eight years later, the discovery of Maya’s old vlog camera and bucket list has given Rilee the chance to do the impossible: make a movie with her best friend from beyond the grave.

Rilee Malloy

Born and raised in Mason, Ohio, Rilee Malloy is a Documentary and Photojournalism major set to graduate in spring 2025. She fell in love with storytelling at 9 years old after seeing the first Avengers movie and was gifted her first camera shortly after. She has a hard time sitting still – during her time at Mizzou, she was a Campus Tour Guide and Summer Welcome Leader, Creative Video Intern for Mizzou Athletics, Vice President of Public Relations for the Panhellenic Association, Director of Media for Mizzou Greek Week, and recipient of the Mizzou ’39 Award. After graduation, Malloy plans to move to Kansas City to work as a videographer for KCTV-5.
