Kansas City native and former dancer, Jaclyn Berry looks to share stories from her own childhood through cinéma vérité. Without question, More than Dance is an homage to the 26 hours she spent every week at Cathy’s studio for 14 years. Studying documentary journalism and film at Mizzou introduced her to the works of the greatest observational filmmaker, Frederick Wiseman. Berry began her storytelling journey early, volunteering for the Chiefs and the Kansas City Film Fest International. She looks to return home to Kansas City to flex her muscle as a producer and cinematographer. Berry will return to Cathy’s Creative Dance once again, this time to teach the very kids she filmed.
