In a boy-dominated sport, members of an all-girl skate crew carve their names into hometown history. Lauridsen Skate Park, located in Des Moines, Iowa, is the largest skate park in the nation and home to the Subsect Kids Skate Crew. On Board follows Luca, Mina, and Azra as they navigate adolescence while learning to skate. This lighthearted portrait of childhood invites viewers to reminisce as they view this lively world through the eyes of three girls.

Taylor Gion came to Mizzou from Des Moines, Iowa with one goal in mind: to tell stories. After trying a hand at strategic communication, she remembered her true passion lied in visual storytelling, leading her to pursue a degree in Documentary Journalism. Gion started her storytelling journey at the age of 5, mounting an old camcorder to her shoulder for her fake TV broadcast. That passion and hunger for storytelling never went away. Gion spent her college years creating, learning, and curating her unique style of storytelling. With saturated colors, steady shots, and photograph like portraiture, On Board is a reflection of that style and an homage to her childhood and hometown. After she graduates, Gion will continue to nurture her visual style as she moves to Europe, traveling the world.
